Gary Halbert's Direct Mail Success Secret

Dear Friend,

According to Google, there were 673,000 searches last month using the keywords "direct mail."

Also, according to Google, 25% of all their searches are now YouTube searches.

So that means approximately 168,250 searches are done each month on YouTube looking for stuff related to direct mail.

I'm hoping a few of those people will find me.

That's why I posted this video on YouTube.

This is an edited version of something I presented on this blog last year… so it may not be anything new to you if you've been a subscriber for a while. But I'm hoping it will be new to a lot of folks on YouTube.

And I hope they like it enough to check out my blog and possibly subscribe.

I guess we'll see.

All the best,

P.S. I'm learning something new every day during my YouTube 30-Day Challenge. Today I learned you can't always trust iMovie to properly upload your videos directly to YouTube.

It worked fine for the first video, but not at all today.  I had to export the video from iMovie and then upload it directly using YouTube's upload process.

I'm glad iMovie didn't work. In the process of finding an alternate solution I discovered I can upload much higher quality videos this way, including HD quality video.

I didn't upload the HD quality video on this one (obviously) but I'll try doing it on another video later this week.

Thanks, Tony. I've always thought this was a much better way than a lot of the other methods many of the gurus teach.

I think a yearly subscription to SRDS is around $750 or do.

Thanks, Marc. iMovie is so easy to use, even Luddites like me can edit video.

    Doberman Dan,

9-minutes of pure gold on how to mine the SRDS to find red-hot lists to mail to. Great demonstration. What does it cost to subscribe to SRDS's online version?

    Thank you.

    Hi Dan,

Excellent info and very smooth production! Subscribing to the online SRDS would be a luxury for me at this stage. Luckily ASU is about 30 min away from where I live and they get the printed version every few years. Hence, are not up to the minute current. Do you think it'd be worthwhile to visit their campus and take a look or would this be a wild goose chase?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Warmly,

    Emette

    Hi Emette,

Here's a free list search resource for you:

    http://lists.the-dma.org/

Not as comprehensive as SRDS, but a good way to check markets and generate ideas.

    DD,

Great, straight-to-the-point information. Not to mention near-flawless video editing.

    Keep it up!

Dan I cannot believe you're giving all this INCREDIBLE info away.

    THANK YOU!

First time I've seen how to use this list. Quite informative. Would there be lists of people who buy "gifts?"

  • dobermandan (author) said:

Definitely. You'd be amazed at the lists you can find there.

    Dan,

    Great stuff!

This is list porn… sign me up. Men in the middle of life who want to live stronger, fuller lives.

    Yeah!

And golf… want to take two strokes off your game? Take two inches off your waistline!

    Love it… sign me up.

To Your Life @ Full Strength,

PS Intense Debate sucks…. i keep signing up and it keeps losing my comments. Not just here. When I see it, I usually don't comment. This is my third time here. Pain in the ass… FYI.

Hey Shawn! Good to hear from you.

Your comment came through this time but I've been noticing it has been losing a few comments. That sucks.

    I'll look into it.

    Hope you're doing well.

    Dan,

Thanks… yeah, I've heard and liked some of the elements of Intense Debate but then starting following people, the same people who'd started me down that path, away from it.

Can't recall exactly why. But it seemed to have some flaws.

That said, this comment is here but much condensed for I lost the HP to type the whole enchilada.

Great to see you… I am long overdue for some phone time. But I tell you,…. you and that mailing list has me on the horse again! Damn… that's sweet. Reminds me of the good ol' days of ALL mail, all the time.

With the Freedom I'm offering men, it's a slam dunk… it's not just a product, it's a Lifestyle… and it's got science to back it up huge!

    Talk to ya soon!

    @Full Strength,
    Shawn

I think your product would completely kick ass in direct mail. There are so many good lists that would be a perfect fit for it.

    Call anytime, Shawn.

    Best,
    Dan
