That was actually my brother in law and three nephews.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted you to see an example of how you can set up an&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Engineered Paradigm Shift!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;What&#8217;s that?&#8221;<\/em>, you ask. Well, I&#8217;m glad you asked!<\/p>\n<p>An engineered paradigm shift is one of the many valuable lessons I learned while mentoring with Gary Halbert. It&#8217;s an entire  shift in the way you think about something.<\/p>\n<p>A simple example would be you being  irritated with someone because he is not paying attention to something important you&#8217;re telling him. He seems indifferent to what you&#8217;re saying  and acts as if he doesn&#8217;t  even hear you.<\/p>\n<p>So, offended that this guy is ignoring you, you start to give him a piece of your mind. Then, about 30-seconds into your angry rant, you notice  he&#8217;s holding a cell phone and staring at it with an empty, distant look.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;What&#8217;s your problem?&#8221;<\/em> you ask belligerently.<\/p>\n<p>His eyes snap back to the present and he replies, <em>&#8220;Oh, I&#8217;m sorry. I just got a call from my Dad and he told me my Mother  was just killed in a car crash. I&#8217;m sorry. I guess I&#8217;ve been  sort of out of it for the last few minutes.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your attitude changes immediately. Your anger has been replaced  with compassion. You express your concern and ask if there&#8217;s  anything you can do to help.<\/p>\n<p>What you just experienced is a &#8220;paradigm shift&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>What I set up in the video is an &#8220;engineered&#8221; paradigm shift.<\/p>\n<p>All the people who watched the video (and the people who were there while I filmed it) are thinking I&#8217;m someone important because I was recognized by others as someone &#8220;famous&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Initially they were probably thinking I&#8217;m just some flunky filming a home video in Lakeside, Ohio (which is more or less true). All of a sudden I&#8217;m elevated to celebrity status after being recognized, treated like a celebrity and asked for a picture.<\/p>\n<p>Or at least that&#8217;s the idea.<\/p>\n<p>I saw an example of this firsthand several years ago when a friend of mine asked me to help him with his executive protection training school.<\/p>\n<p>I was asked to play the part of a porno movie producer from L.A. who needed protection services. My buddy&#8217;s students drove me around and took me wherever I wanted to go, while practicing their bodyguard skills.<\/p>\n<p>They actually had to do advance work the day before and check out the locations where they were taking me the next day.<\/p>\n<p>One of the places was &#8220;Hooters&#8221; in Dayton, Ohio. Why Hooters? Well, it seemed &#8220;in character.&#8221; After all, a porno move producer might be out scouting potential new talent, right?<\/p>\n<p>And besides, my buddy who ran the executive protection training school was paying for everything&#8230; so I got a free meal while enjoying the &#8220;scenery&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>While they were doing their advance work, they mentioned that their &#8220;principal&#8221; (the person being protected) was a porno movie producer from L.A. who had been receiving death threats from religious nuts.<\/p>\n<p>When I got to the restaurant the next day with my protection team, you should have seen how I was treated. It was hilarious! They really thought I was a big shot.<\/p>\n<p>Every waitress in the place was checking me out and whispering to the other employees about me.<\/p>\n<p>The manager came by the table several times to make sure I had everything I needed.<\/p>\n<p>One waitresses even asked if she could &#8220;audition&#8221; for me in the limo outside.<\/p>\n<p>It was AWESOME!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How To Use Engineered Paradigm Shifts<br \/>\nTo Make More Money&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another example Gary Halbert taught me&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s say you take your car to a detailing business to get it cleaned up and looking new again. They do a good job, you pay them, take your spiffed-up car and go on with the rest of your day.<\/p>\n<p>In most cases, that&#8217;s the end of it. You never hear from this business again. You might go back&#8230; you might not.<\/p>\n<p>Except in <em>this<\/em> case, the owner is a smart cookie who understands engineered paradigm shifts.<\/p>\n<p>A few days later, you get a letter  from the guy with the car-detailing business. He tells you that when you brought your car in to be detailed, one of his workers found $2.89  when he was cleaning the inside of your car.<\/p>\n<p>The letter goes on to say the  worker turned the money over to him (the owner). And since he didn&#8217;t get to see you before you left, he wanted to return the money to you.<\/p>\n<p>Also, he was sending  you three $1 bills instead of the exact $2.89 because he didn&#8217;t want to  send a bunch of coins in the mail.<\/p>\n<p>He ends the letter by thanking you  for your business and says he hopes he has the chance to serve you again.<\/p>\n<p>What an honest guy! What a nice thing for him to do! I bet if you got another letter or a call from him about three weeks  later suggesting it might be time to get your car detailed again&#8230; you&#8217;d probably take your car right  back to that same place.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I bet you&#8217;d be&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>About Ten Times More Likely<br \/>\nTo Do Business There Again!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the engineered paradigm shift&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The three bucks the owner of the car detailing place sent really was NOT your money.  It was actually a small &#8220;investment&#8221; on his part to win your trust and hopefully get you to come back again when you need your car cleaned.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty cool, huh?<\/p>\n<p>I bet if you put your mind to it you could come up with all kinds of ways to engineer paradigm shifts to help&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build trust with your customers&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Gain favor with the opposite sex&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Position yourself as an authority&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>And much more&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve got any ideas of how to use engineered paradigm shifts, feel free to post them below.<\/p>\n<p>All the best,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-65\" title=\"dobedansig_sm12\" src=\"https:\/\/dobermandan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/dobedansig_sm12.jpg\" alt=\"dobedansig_sm12\" width=\"150\" height=\"74\" \/><\/p>\n<p>P.S.
