Dear Friend,<\/p>\n

We’re celebrating two important things in my household today.<\/p>\n

The first is the 234th anniversary of our nation’s declaration of independence.<\/p>\n

The second is the Colombiana’s birthday.<\/p>\n

Both are a pretty big deal to me because both events have greatly contributed to my personal happiness.<\/p>\n

When I had my personal “declaration of independence” from my J-O-B back in 1997, I had no idea where this journey was going to lead me.<\/p>\n

It’s been a wild ride… but I don’t regret one second of it.<\/p>\n

Freedom was worth all the sacrifices.<\/p>\n

My only regret is that I didn’t do it a decade earlier.<\/p>\n

In the spirit of Independence Day today in the U.S., I’d like to share one of my favorite parts of the Declaration of Independence:<\/p>\n

\n

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Isn’t that awesome? You were BORN with certain unalienable rights.<\/p>\n

“Unalienable” means they are not to be taken away from you… or God forbid, willingly relinquished.<\/p>\n

No government, no king, no leader, either self-appointed or elected, can “grant” you these rights.<\/p>\n

They can’t grant them because you already have them! They’re automatically yours at birth.<\/p>\n

You don’t need anybody’s permission to exercise these rights… what you do with them is entirely up to you.<\/p>\n

You can choose to relinquish them, allowing yourself to be ruled by others.<\/p>\n

Or you can stand and make whatever sacrifices are necessary to rule yourself and gain your freedom.<\/p>\n

I really hope you choose the latter.<\/p>\n

As somebody who was NOT free for many years, I can unequivocally tell you that whatever sacrifices you have to make to gain your freedom will be worth it.<\/p>\n

I hope you have a happy Independence Day today… and I pray for blessings for you and your loved ones.<\/p>\n
