The playwright Oscar Wilde summed up a huge secret to success:<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything popular is wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somehow… some way… even from the very early age of 7, I\u2019ve always known that was true.<\/p>\n

You see, I always knew in my gut something wasn\u2019t right about this strange reality where I\u2019ve been exiled to live this current life.<\/p>\n

Because everybody around me — and I do mean everybody<\/em> \u2013 has always all conformed to random, self-appointed \u201cauthority.\u201d<\/p>\n

And this \u201cauthority\u201d is pretty darn crafty.<\/p>\n

Evil<\/em> crafty… but crafty nonetheless<\/p>\n

Because the enforcement method \u201cthey\u201d have in place to ensure conformity is to let the sheeple police themselves<\/em> into conformity.<\/p>\n

In other words, everyone all around me has always blindly conformed to each other… without ever questioning it.<\/p>\n

When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I discovered it\u2019s the exact same.<\/p>\n

Actually, in a lot of ways it\u2019s worse.<\/p>\n

My first direct marketing\/copywriting mentor (and now personal friend) Dan Kennedy coined a funny (but accurate) phrase for this:<\/p>\n

\u201cMarketing incest.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everybody doing the exact same things — in the exact same way — as everybody else. And just like real incest… everybody winds up stupid.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no wonder that 95 percent of businesses fail within the first 5 years. That\u2019s the result of \u201cmarketing incest\u201d… when people conform to each other out of ignorance, laziness, and fear.<\/p>\n

The business owners who succeed march to the beat of their own drum.<\/p>\n

And that means this:<\/p>\n

Yes, you too can find \u201csuccess,\u201d however you define that. And financial freedom and the good life can<\/em> be yours. But if that\u2019s what you really want… and you\u2019re willing to pay the price… the only way to get it is by not<\/em> following the herd.<\/p>\n

If that scares you, maybe a business ain\u2019t for you.<\/p>\n

Starting and running your own business is only for the person who has a relentless desire for financial independence. And making more money in a single year than most of your friends will make in 10 to 20 years.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s for someone who\u2019s willing to make the legion<\/em> of sacrifices that a successful business demands. (Rght off the bat this requirement disqualifies more than 99% of the population.)<\/p>\n

It\u2019s for the guy or gal willing to roll the dice… take the risks… while enduring the stress and anxiety often caused by those actions.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s for the brave dude or dudette with the gonads to fight the battles within your own mind… the little voice that always says stuff like, \u201cWhat makes you think a person like you<\/em> can be successful?\u201d<\/p>\n

Believe me… there are so few people like that nowadays (sadly) the number is infinitesimal.<\/p>\n

Listen… once you understand all this, then you\u2019ll understand why I don’t understand all of the whining and complaining about how this marketing\/copywriting thang is so complicated, befuddling and tough to learn.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell ya why…<\/p>\n

\u2019Cuz it\u2019s supposed<\/em> to be!<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s how the Universe weeds out the legion<\/em> of people who only say<\/em> they want success… but aren\u2019t willing to pay the price and stay the course.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been at this for three months and have run two tests but it\u2019s still not working! Waaa waaa waaa!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Look, millions of sheeple go six-figures into debt and waste 4 to 6 years of their life to get a business degree at college… which teaches you virtually nothing<\/em> about marketing that works in the real world.<\/p>\n

Yet I see people who work at this online marketing thang for only 4 to 6 weeks<\/em> and expect fortunes to miraculously fall from the sky.<\/p>\n

How can they be so delusional?<\/p>\n

Because that’s what they were promised by the sellers<\/em> of those delusional dreams.<\/p>\n

You sure don\u2019t hear that stuff from me<\/em>, do ya?<\/p>\n

In fact, I\u2019ve been told that I talk too<\/em> much about the difficulty of it all… and how, although almost anyone can<\/em> succeed, very, very few will.<\/p>\n

Listen, if you insist on believing that this entrepreneur\/marketing thang be easy… you better go get your name tag and hair net ready. Because I see nothing but 40+ hour a week drudgery in your future, endlessly repeating \u201cYou want fries with that?\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of fast food, it took Colonel Sanders his entire frickin\u2019 life<\/em> to figure out how to be successful in business. He was, for all intents and purposes, constantly struggling and broke until he finally achieved success at ripe old age of 65.<\/p>\n

But he wouldn\u2019t give up until he achieved the success he desired… or died first.<\/p>\n

Important question for ya:<\/p>\n

Do you<\/em> have the huevos<\/em> to stumble around frustrated and confused… not making a single cent (and actually losing<\/em> lots of money) for 10 years if that\u2019s the price you have to pay for success?<\/p>\n

I ask you that because that was exactly<\/em> the price I had to pay for success.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019d never ask you to do anything that I\u2019m not willing to do… or haven\u2019t already done.<\/p>\n

But I won\u2019t. Because I really… truly… from-the-bottom-of-my-heart sincerely<\/em> desire you to achieve the success you say you want.<\/p>\n

Because, for many, if not most people, that\u2019s the only way you\u2019re ever gonna finally get to what\u2019s really<\/em> important.<\/p>\n
