A lot of folks who have a public platform get really, really good at their role… their persona, their character.<\/p>\n

So if that character\/persona is an \u2018up\u2019 person… even if they feel like death warmed over… they play the role.<\/p>\n

I get it. I really do.<\/p>\n

Heck, I\u2019ve done it myself.<\/p>\n

But lately I\u2019ve been wondering…<\/p>\n

Is that genuine?<\/p>\n

Is that being true to yourself?<\/p>\n

\u2019Cuz to be totally transparent with you… every time I\u2019ve put on the \u2018up\u2019 act when deep inside I feel like complete doody… I\u2019ve felt VERY uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

Because it makes me feel like a fraud.<\/p>\n

Yes, I know people with a public profile are always supposed to be an encourager for their followers. I understand that better than most. Heck, I teach it in my Newsletter Publishing Profits <\/em>program<\/a>. (Because a successful newsletter that gets people to stick with you month after month, year after year, is always<\/em> based on a unique voice\/persona.)<\/p>\n

But I feel like a complete fraud if I put on the \u201chey, everything\u2019s awesome\u201d act… when in reality I feel 180 degrees to the contrary.<\/p>\n

And I ain\u2019t gonna do it anymore.<\/p>\n

Listen… I\u2019m gonna reveal something that a lot of folks might not understand…<\/p>\n

Doberman Dan is a fictitious character. A role.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s based on the good qualities of Daniel Charles Gallapoo. (Last name is supposed<\/em> to be Galipeau… a good French Canadian surname. But that\u2019s a story for another time.)<\/p>\n

So Doberman Dan has all my good qualities (although slightly exaggerated) … with little or none of the qualities I\u2019d prefer the world not see.<\/p>\n

But ya know what? Lately I decided I really don\u2019t care anymore if the world sees what I\u2019ve considered to be my \u201cbad qualities.\u201d I\u2019m just gonna be true to myself by being totally transparent. If that lets anybody down, so be it. That\u2019s reality. Besides, an intelligent person knows not to put anybody<\/em> on a pedestal.<\/p>\n

In addition to that… although it took me half a century to finally realize it… here\u2019s something else you might find shocking:<\/p>\n

Just like Doberman Dan… Daniel Charles Gallapoo is a role, too. Neither of them really exist. But that<\/em> little revelation will take us down a rabbit hole that I\u2019m not prepared to explain today… so let\u2019s just move on with my original question…<\/p>\n

Do you ever feel this way, too? Like you\u2019re not being genuine when you put on the happy face and fake like you feel great… when in fact, you feel pretty bad.<\/p>\n

Listen, there\u2019s no point to any of this today. I\u2019m not trying to teach anything or sell you on my philosophy.<\/p>\n

In fact, I\u2019m not sure what the heck I\u2019m doing. I guess I\u2019m just doing the writer thang and having a cathartic experience \u201con paper\u201d so to speak. (Actually, \u201con electrons,\u201d I guess.)<\/p>\n

Sooooooo<\/em>… if you\u2019ve ever felt the same, I just wanted to let you know that you\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n

P.S. I\u2019ve struggled a lot in my entrepreneurial life.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, almost none of my struggles were from lack of \u201chow to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because when your conditioning says that you\u2019re just a poor guy from Barberton, Ohio who will never amount to much… regardless of how much \u201csuccess\u201d you experience… and regardless of how much money you make… you\u2019ll do whatever it takes, consciously or unconsciously, to get back to your comfort zone… being a poor guy from Barberton, Ohio who will never amount to much.<\/p>\n

Which is why… after decades of searching for ways to overcome that HUGE problem… I finally revealed this…<\/a><\/p>\n
