I played a little prank on you.<\/p>\n

Last night while you were sleeping, I sneaked into your room and \u201cchloroformed\u201d you.<\/p>\n

And while you were flying with the angels… with your consciousness completely disconnected from your body… I implanted some special lenses in your eyes.<\/p>\n

These lenses let you see everything exactly as it is… with one small exception.<\/p>\n

The lenses have a small yellow filter in one spot. So, everything you look at appears to have a yellow stain.<\/p>\n

When you woke up you saw a yellow stain on the ceiling.<\/p>\n

\u201cHmmmm<\/em>… I must have a leak in my roof. I\u2019ll have to get that checked out,\u201d you think to yourself.<\/p>\n

Then you walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeez, the mirror needs cleaned. There\u2019s some kind of yellow stain right in my line of sight. Where\u2019s the Windex?\u201d<\/p>\n

You sprayed Windex and scrubbed the mirror about 50 different times. But that yellow stain remained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWow, no matter what I do that yellow stain won\u2019t go away. It must be something within the mirror. I guess I need to replace it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then you walked into the kitchen to make some coffee.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess my wife or kids must have spilled something on the white countertop. Look at that yellow stain.\u201d<\/p>\n

You sprayed countertop cleaner on that \u201cstain\u201d 100 times and scrubbed until your hand was cramped… yet the stain remained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess that stain is permanent. Looks like I have to replace the countertop, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

As you were walking out the door you looked at the wall and saw a yellow stain there, also. So you grabbed the Pine-Sol and scrubbed away at that stain for almost an hour.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is weird,\u201d you say. \u201cNo matter how hard I work at it, these yellow stains never go away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, everywhere you go, everything you look at is stained. And with you being a tad bit OCD (like many entrepreneurs) it\u2019s driving you crazy. And you try to clean off this \u201cstain\u201d on darn near EVERYTHING.<\/p>\n

But no matter how hard you work at it… no matter which cleaning product you try… no matter which cleaning technique you use… the stains won\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut, damn spot,\u201d you shout. (My, how well-read you are!) But that positive thinking, \u201cname it and claim it\u201d stuff doesn\u2019t work either. Everything is still stained.<\/p>\n

So you make one final appeal. You contact the big guy upstairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod, please… I implore you with all my heart and soul… clean these stains away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet the stains remain.<\/p>\n

And now you blame God. Because the situation looks hopeless.<\/p>\n

And you feel deeply depressed.<\/p>\n

Why would I play such a cruel trick on you?<\/p>\n

The answer is simple, my revered reader. It was to teach you a lesson.<\/p>\n

You see, there\u2019s nothing… and I mean absolutely NOTHING you can do to get rid of those stains.<\/p>\n

Because you\u2019ve been seeking the solution in the wrong place.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve been seeking a solution\u00a0outside<\/em>\u00a0of yourself. But the thing causing the problem is internal. And until you fix THAT, nothing external is ever gonna work.<\/p>\n

Which is why I say that starting and running a business is the best self-improvement program in existence. Because you\u2019re FORCED to fix the internal problems if you want to break through your plateaus.<\/p>\n

However… even if you are doing the internal work, your results will still be half-assed without the right strategy and tactics.<\/p>\n

Especially<\/em>\u00a0when it comes to customer acquisition and list building. Because you can waste inordinate amounts of time and money on stuff that doesn\u2019t work anymore. Or stuff that used to work in the past… but now it only attracts what I call FSMs… freebie seeking mooches.<\/p>\n

Look, after all my entrepreneurial struggles and successes over the past 30 years… without a doubt in my mind I can tell ya THIS:<\/p>\n

This<\/em>\u00a0the SUREST way to create a hyper-responsive list of BUYERS, not FSMs.<\/p>\n

Which means that it\u2019s the best way I know to ultimately build wealth.<\/p>\n
