I\u2019m gonna attempt the impossible today.<\/p>\n

I was born.<\/p>\n

Father, poor. His parents survived the Great Depression by moving back to the farm with Great Granpa Galipeaux… aka Francis Gallapoo…<\/p>\n

…a French Canadian immigrant who didn\u2019t speak a word of English when he emigrated to the United States.<\/p>\n

(Dumb ass civil servant US Immigration morons. They screwed up his last name on the paperwork. It\u2019s not \u201cGallapoo.\u201d It\u2019s \u201cGalipeaux.\u201d Too late now. We\u2019re stuck with this bastardized spelling. But it\u2019s NOT our REAL last name.)<\/p>\n

Mother, not just poor. Mississippi poor.<\/p>\n

(And you have NO idea how poor that really is. As a little girl, my mom had no shoes, a dress made out of a burlap potato sack… and the only reason she had anything to eat — both parents HARDCORE alcoholics — was because her aunt and uncle owned a VERY humble corner store. And no… with God himself as my witness, I am NOT exaggerating.)<\/p>\n

So that was my start.<\/p>\n

In Barberton, Ohio.<\/p>\n

The BEST I could have hoped for was a job with one of the rubber companies in Akron, Ohio.<\/p>\n

But I had a different plan.<\/p>\n

I wanted more.<\/p>\n

Here was my trajectory:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Got the best job a white trash \u201cwaste of human flesh\u201d guy like me could ever hope for. A civil service J-O-B. Police officer for the City of Dayton, Ohio.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Got recruited into Amway. Did EVERYTHING they told me. Failed at EVERYTHING. Ended up divorced, broke, in debt and miserable.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Nine L-O-N-G \u201cbleed form your damn eyeballs\u201d painful years of serial entrepreneurial failure. Luckily I still had my job as a cop. Because every single business I started (and there were MANY) was a soul crushing failure. And all my co-workers, friends and family LOVED the fact that I failed at everything.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Discovered direct response marketing and copywriting from Dan Kennedy\u2019s \u201cMagnetic Marketing System.\u201d<\/p>\n
