I watched the movie \u201cSafety Not Guaranteed\u201d again last night.<\/p>\n

Cute flick.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s based on a classified ad that appeared in the Sept\/Oct 1997 issue of Backwoods Home Magazine.<\/p>\n

The ad said…<\/p>\n

\u201cWANTED: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You’ll get paid when we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The story about the ad is a good one. But for another time.<\/p>\n

Today we\u2019re gonna talk about the movie it inspired.<\/p>\n

A writer and two interns from Seattle Magazine travel to Ocean View, Washington to find the ad\u2019s writer.<\/p>\n

They find an eccentric but intelligent guy who really believes he is going to travel back in time. And he\u2019s looking for a reliable partner to accompany him.<\/p>\n

A few have applied in the past but none\u00a0have ever been chosen.<\/p>\n

Because none had a good enough reason for wanting to go back in time.<\/p>\n

Until he meets Darius, one of the Seattle Magazine interns.<\/p>\n

If you could go back in time, what would YOU change?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not talking about altering horrific events in history that have caused untold human suffering. Like disco.<\/p>\n

I mean what things in YOUR personal life would you change<\/a>?<\/p>\n
