{"id":11548,"date":"2014-06-26T18:25:56","date_gmt":"2014-06-26T23:25:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dobermandan.com\/?p=11548"},"modified":"2014-06-26T18:25:56","modified_gmt":"2014-06-26T23:25:56","slug":"the-most-important-secret-to-survive-the-impending-online-marketing-dilemma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dobermandan.com\/blog\/the-most-important-secret-to-survive-the-impending-online-marketing-dilemma\/","title":{"rendered":"The Most Important Secret To Survive The Impending Online Marketing Dilemma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Something a little different today.<\/p>\n<p>SUPER important stuff&#8230; ESPECIALLY if you&#8217;re in the online information marketing business.<\/p>\n<p>Some BIG changes are already happening&#8230; and a lot of marketers are NOT going to survive.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s my response from a question sent via email to a small private mastermind I&#8217;m involved in.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve have to leave out some private info about the dude&#8217;s business&#8230; but I&#8217;m able to share about 80% of my answer.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re in the info business&#8230; and want to STAY in the info business&#8230; ya better listen up.<\/p>\n<p>Here was the question that started my little rant:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hey crew &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Been a while since I&#8217;ve hit the group with a question &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Anyways, here&#8217;s what I have launched this month:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[redacted]<\/p>\n<p>(DD comment: It was a pretty unique event in a niche where I&#8217;ve never seen events promoted.)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And I&#8217;m trying to get these last 6 seats to sell out this week!<\/p>\n<p>So, I didn&#8217;t even &#8220;launch&#8221; this in any traditional manner&#8230; even though it&#8217;s high ticket.<\/p>\n<p>I think at the end of one editorial email I said&#8230;&#8221;Keep an eye out for an email from me on something I&#8217;ve been working on for over a year&#8221; &#8212; that&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n<p>No hotlist, no nothing.<\/p>\n<p>I sent the first email on 6-4-14 &#8230; as you see we&#8217;ve sold 14 of the 20 seats (actually 15 but we had a payment issue and still trying to track that dude down to fix it) &#8212; but 14 confirmed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(DD&#8217;s comment: This was a 2-day event for $2,000 in a niche where EVERYBODY is selling piddly ass $17 to $47 digital products. Part of my answer to this mastermind bro follows.)<\/p>\n<p>***********<\/p>\n<p>Oh HELL yeah.<\/p>\n<p>NOW you&#8217;re talking.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll keep this rant short:<\/p>\n<p>The info biz has changed fellas&#8230; and if we don&#8217;t keep up with it, it&#8217;s gonna get tougher and tougher. (It&#8217;s already EXPONENTIALLY harder than when I started in &#8217;95.)<\/p>\n<p>Many have already dropped\/are dropping like flies&#8230; in practically ALL markets.<\/p>\n<p>You USED to be able to make money selling &#8220;how to&#8221; targeting the &#8220;bottom feeder&#8221; 80% of the market&#8230;\u00a0 but that is rapidly going the way of the dinosaur.<\/p>\n<p>No, the ONLY way to make it (which involves outspending your competition on CPA as fast as possible) is by focusing on the 20%.<\/p>\n<p>(I don&#8217;t have time to talk about how to maximize profits by focusing on the top 20% of the 20%.)<\/p>\n<p>And you don&#8217;t sell &#8220;how to&#8221; products to the 20%. You sell&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Experiences &amp; Done-For-You!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At high price points.<\/p>\n<p>You sold this $2,000 event out faster than most people in this niche sell a half a dozen $10 eBooks!<\/p>\n<p>So there&#8217;s your proof. (I&#8217;ve got TONS more proof if I need to make my case without a doubt left in your minds.)<\/p>\n<p>Only 5 days after the event most will have forgotten almost EVERYTHING they learned and heard there.<\/p>\n<p>The only thing that will be remembered is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How you made them FEEL!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You have now discovered what your 20% wants.\u00a0 Wash, rinse and repeat&#8230; ad infinitum.<\/p>\n<p>Come up with something at 10x the price (or more) and the 20% of the 20% will identify themselves and pay for it.<\/p>\n<p>Repeatedly.<\/p>\n<p>NOW you&#8217;ve got a biz that will last as your profit margins selling to the 80% get shaved down to nothing&#8230; and then eventually goes negative.<\/p>\n<p>And then VERY negative.<\/p>\n<p>Damn, I&#8217;m good!
