Thanks, Dean.

Yeah, NZ did GREAT. And surrounded by multi world cup winners like Spain, Brazil, Italy, etc. The Colombiana calls underdog teams facing monster teams like that, "the ant versus the elephant." Must be a saying in South America.

I try to avoid the news at all. It doesn't help my attitude at all.

And to answer your question, yes, it's the same notification list. I got a bunch of new subscribers so I wanted to give them the opportunity, too.

The Peruana in my house never watches sports except the Wold Cup. And Peru didn't even get in it this time around. I don't see the point of the game, really, especially when it comes to TV. Never have. Of course I grew up watching American football that's made for TV.

Hey, I couldn't agree more about the major media outlets, in particular television. That's why I quit watching it entirely years ago. Ok, on occasion I'll catch a few minutes of History Channel or something and a few times a season a baseball game. Come to think of it, last time I watched any TV was when I was home from work with a flu.

Dan, I seem to recall a little while ago you had a sign-up for advance notice of something having to do with your coaching program. I think I signed up for that notification. Is this the same one?

I agree that was a big bonus in acting the first time round.

However, there is a lot of value in that course to be getting it free. I wouldn't sit back and miss out this time!

NZ misses out on the FIFA 2nd round, but we returned home unbeaten and ahead of the Italians. Not bad for a country ranked about 198 lol

Hi Medreth,

I figured your wife, also being a Colombiana, would be glued to the TV during the World Cup.

One of my American friends I used to hang out in Costa Rica used to say they could make soccer a lot more exciting if they'd take away the goalies. Then we'd have soccer scores like basketball games.

Hi Dan,

I don't see anything in Soccer but my wife is glued to the TV when a World Cup game is on.

I like to see scoring. They get excited in the middle of the field when nothing is going on.

That is a true story of the Colombia goalie. Some of these people take it a little too serious.

From Colombia,

Good points, Caleb.

We DO have it pretty good here compared to many other parts of the world.

Dan!

Great frickin post.

Tis' true, there were actually not just a lot of millionaires made in the last great depression, but many of the companies that have been around for years and thrived through the good times were actually started in the depression!

And this cracked me up: "Of course, there are exceptions (can anyone say “Pablo Escobar”?)…" haha ... good point though -- every time I get down on myself I just think of the rest of the world.

At least I have the time and energy to complain about things! I'd venture half the world if not more never gets a chance to stop worrying about getting food, avoiding poverty or death, to be able to worry about anything else!

And dude. I can't stand watching Futbol :)

Later!

Oops! Sorry! I forgot I had soccer fans on my list.

Actually, the Colombiana agrees with you about Argentina.

She said the people in Argentina put Maradona above the Pope!
