You know Dan,

I think I'll do that. I would love to see this
over there.

As a die hard fan of Gary's advice, I think this
would fit right in.

Dan,

Excellent article. It never ceases to amaze me that money making ideas are everywhere -- in many shapes and forms. It's all a matter of one focusing his/her energy and getting to work and not being afraid of failure.

Your contention that success is not a straight line is an idea that took me years to grasp. I beat myself up because I hadn't "achieved" what some of my colleagues had, forgetting a simple truth that Denzel Washington -- a true gentleman in the best sense of the word -- told me back in the early 90's: "Everyone has their own path. Don't worry about what your buddies are doing. Concentrate on your own journey."

Washingtons' words resonate with me as I get closer to 40 -- I'm 39 -- and take stock of where I am, as opposed to where I thought I would be, in my life. If I'm blessed, I have another 30 years of breathing. One can get a lot done within that amount of time. Considering my great-grandmother is still lucid at the tender age of 101, I figure to make it to 70 if I take care of myself. The game isn't over until the clock runs out. Thankfully, mine is still ticking.

Dan, thanks for the wisdom and ideas that you share with the community that has fostered here. I'm sure you're not dropping all your nuggets -- nor would I expect you to, quite frankly. The master never gives away all his goodies.;-) However, the information that you impart is worth its weight in gold and speaks to your generous nature. Well done, my friend, well done.;-)

Kindest Regards,
Anthony

PS -- " ...Markets where several other people are making over a million bucks a month in direct mail ONLY..." -- Is this gross or net?

Dan,

P.I., what a great idea! I decided recently to do some offline advertising for a part time online business I've had for several years and this could be a good market test. The business is a time sucker (drop-ship and I do everything but the fulfillment) so I haven't tried very hard to build it up, but I plan to sell it within the year. More sales = higher value.

Now, to figure out how to approach a publisher and how to structure an offer......

Thanks, Joseph. I have "blue Harvest" but I don't have "Something, something, something dark side" yet. Gonna pick it up when I get back from John Carlton's seminar.

Thanks, Courtney. Glad you liked it.

If you feel this post would be a good article for The Gary Halbert Letter. I would be grateful if you would let Bond Halbert over at <a href="http://www.thegaryhalbertletter.com" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.thegaryhalbertletter.com</a>" target="_blank">www.thegaryhalbertletter.com</a></a> know that.
