If you want to prosper in 2012 no matter what happens in the economy, this will be the most important message you will read all year.

Monday, 6:21 PM

Dear Friend,

I’ve got some good news for you…

…or possibly some bad news.

It all depends, I guess.

1. I can predict, almost to the penny, how much money you’re going to make in 2012…

2. I can predict how much personal happiness, fulfillment and sense of accomplishment you’ll experience in 2012… and…

3. I can predict how many new, exciting and successful projects you’ll start in 2012…

Wanna know the answer?

You SURE you wanna know?

Okey dokey…

My #1 prediction for you in ALL of the above 3 categories for 2012… is…

(Drum roll, please…)

The Same Or LESS
Than In 2011!

Like I said, depending on how your 2011 was, that could be good news or bad news.

Do you know how Albert Einstein defined insanity?

“Doing the same thing over and over again
and expecting different results.”

If you want different results than you had in 2011, you have to do different things.

Or… you’ll have to do MORE of the things that worked and STOP doing the things that DIDN’T work.

Either way, I’m 99.99% sure doing the same things you did in 2011 is gonna bring you the same results you got in 2011.

Actually, probably worse.

You see, having studied the monetary system since 1997… and knowing the inevitable results of a fraudulent fiat fractional reserve monetary system… I’m pretty sure even if you do the EXACT same things that were successful for you in 2011, your results are going to be DRAMATICALLY worse in 2012.

This isn’t 2005 anymore when any moron with a website and a Paypal account could make pretty decent coin online. (And many morons did.)

Many things in the marketplace have changed… and they’re now changing faster than ever.

Lots of marketers and entrepreneurs are NOT going to be happy with how those changes are going to affect their incomes.

But a few marketers and entrepreneurs are going to prosper… in spite of whatever scary stuff happens in the economy.

And I want to see YOU in the small, elite group that prospers.

So, with your permission, I’m going to send you something to make sure you’re in this elite group of entrepreneurs.

It’s the secret of Gary Halbert’s…

Multi-Million Dollar Potato Box!

One day upon returning to Halbert’s apartment after a disastrous trip on his boat that left us drifting helplessly towards Cuba, Gary pointed out a very plain wooden potato box he kept in the corner of his apartment.

He looked me in the eye and whispered slowly and deliberately…

"This potato box contains secrets that, if done exactly as I instruct, can bring you…"

"As much money as your greedy little heart desires!"

As far as making lots of money, it was one of the most important lessons I ever discovered from the late, great Gary Halbert.

And THAT is what I want to send you.

Subscribers to my newsletter paid $49.97 for this information, but I feel it’s so important for your economic survival in these changing times, you’re going to get it at…

A 90% Discount!

Here’s what you’re going to get:

It’s the December 2011 issue of The Doberman Dan Letter where I reveal the secrets of Gary Halbert's multi-million dollar potato box and show you the 5 hottest, most responsive and most profitable (by FAR) "goldmine" markets. These are the top-level secrets of the marketing masters that can make you as much dinero as you can possibly imagine for yourself.

With this Gary Halbert secret, revealed ONLY to me and three other lucky protégés, I’m handing you six PROVEN winning multi-million dollar business ideas on a silver platter… complete with all the copy “swipe files” you'll need to get things going.

The strategies I'm sharing in the December issue of The Doberman Dan Letter can support you in style for the rest of your life, like they’ve done for me these past 17 years.

And if you so desire, they can fill your coffers with enough filthy lucre to support your next two GENERATIONS in style, too.

I printed a few extra copies and have one set aside just for YOU.

On one little condition:

All I ask is that you cover a portion of the costs I’m going to incur in getting this package out to you.

What costs?:

* $2.08 in postage ($5.70 for international postage)

* $4.11 in fulfillment expenses
(That covers printing costs, envelope, paying somebody to process, pick, pack and mail your order… AND… a cool, surprise, unexpected “wow-factor” mystery bonus you’re going to get — a million-dollar money-making lesson in and of itself.)

Getting this package out to you sets me back a total of $6.19… but all I ask is you help cover a portion of that… only $4.97. ($7.97 outside North America.)

Mere pocket change to get what could quickly be worth to you $25,000… $50,000… $100,000… or even…

A Cool Million…
Or More!

Allow me to digress for a second with an IMPORTANT marketing lesson:

By asking your prospects to cover a small shipping & processing fee, you get a MUCH higher quality and responsive prospect… AND…

…you drive away the good-for-nothin’, freeloading, socialistic, looting, lazy, do-nothing moocher scumbags.

And come on… $4.97 is less than what you spend on a cup of Starbucks coffee… money you just piss away (literally!) with no return on investment… other than a temporary caffeine buzz.

I’m offering you an opportunity to get a LITERAL million-dollar money-making lesson I discovered directly from the legend himself, Gary Halbert… for mere pocket change.

AND… you’re investing 90% less than what my subscribers paid to get this issue last month.

If you truly want to be financially free, doesn’t it make sense to invest a little pocket change for something that could support you in style the rest of your life?

Let Me Ask You A Couple
Very Important Questions:

Have you always felt like you’re different than most people?

That somehow, some way you’re destined for SOME kind of greatness?

Have you recognized you’re not like the rest of the “walking dead” you’re surrounded by?

…The sad, washed up, pathetic human beings living lives of quiet desperation, without one single drop of entrepreneurial blood coursing through their veins… stuck in menial jobs they despise, barely making enough money to get by…

…with absolutely ZERO ambition, no goals, no dreams and no intestinal fortitude to “man up” and provide a better life for their family.

If you’ve somehow always known in your heart of hearts it’s not your destiny to suffer the same sad, soul-depleting fate as the rest of these poor schmucks you’re surrounded by… then…

This Offer Is A Complete
No-Brainer For You!

And NO… this isn’t some kind of crafty scam to get your credit card information and trick you into some kind of forced continuity program.

Hell NO!

No tricks, no hidden forced continuity, no upsells, no “surprise” charges to your credit card 30 days down the road… none of that crap.

I’m offering to send you some of the most important secrets I’ve used to make millions and live financially free… and all I’m asking is you simply cover a portion of my hard costs.

Of course, after you sample the December 2011 issue of The Doberman Dan Letter I HOPE you’ll join my little “Marketing Camelot” and become a subscriber… but it’s totally fine if you choose not to.

I’m just really passionate about getting my most effective money-making secrets into your hands as quickly as possible… no strings attached.

My offer is simple:

Invest a mere $4.97 to cover part of my costs and I’ll send you what I promised, the December 2011 issue of The Doberman Dan Letter.

Our deal is done, transaction complete… no “trick you into forced continuity” B.S. so frequently perpetrated by so many unscrupulous marketers.

You have my word on that.

And NO, I will NOT send you this information in any kind of digital format… for a couple reasons:

1. The “mystery bonus” you’re going to get is IMPOSSIBLE to send digitally. (You’ll understand as soon as you rip open the envelope and discover the surprise.)

2. Nearly 20 years direct marketing experience, AND the wisdom and experience gained from working/mentoring with some of the best direct marketers in the world, has unequivocally proven that information sent in hard copy is:

a. Valued and appreciated INFINITELY more than the same information delivered via digital format…

b. Has a 90%+ chance of actually getting opened and read… as opposed to getting yet another PDF that just takes up space on your hard drive.

c. Proven in numerous double-blind studies is easier and faster to read than the same information presented on a computer monitor…

d. Comprehension and retention is much higher when read in hard copy as opposed to a computer monitor, tablet or smart phone…

e. MRI brain scans have shown that our brains process paper-based and digital marketing in different ways. Interestingly, the MRI’s showed paper ads caused more emotional processing.

According to the study, physical media left a “deeper footprint” in the brain and increased what is called “sensory processing.”

Printed material generated more activity within the area of the brain associated with the integration of visual and spatial information (the left and right parietal).

This confirms that physical material is more “real” to the brain. It is also better connected to memory because it engages the brain’s spatial memory networks.

The study also demonstrated that the tangible materials involved more “emotional processing” in the subjects, highly important for accurate recall.

The study also proved more processing is taking place in the right retrosplenial cortex when physical material is presented. This part of the brain is involved in the processing of emotionally powerful stimuli and memory. So basically, hard copy materials generate more emotionally vivid memories.

The MRI’s also showed that hard copy materials generate increased activity in the cerebellum, which is associated with spatial and emotional processing (as well as motor activity.) That’s even further evidence of the enhanced emotional processing.

[From Millward Brown Case Study - Using Neuroscience to Understand the Role of Direct Mail.]

Because of “inbox overload” and the never-ending flow of new information FLOODING the Internet every second of the day, it is now IMPOSSIBLE to elicit that kind of positive cerebral response online or via e-mail.

f. Because of a, b, c , d & e above, there is a SIGNIFICANTLY higher chance you will comprehend the information much better in hard copy, it will make more of an emotional impact so you will remember it better, and most importantly, because of the emotional reaction going on in your brain, you will TAKE ACTION… which, by the way, is the most important key to your success.

Ya dig?

That’s why it’s CRUCIAL I send this to you in hard copy via the good old U.S. Postal Service. It’s for your OWN good, not mine.

I’ve kept these highly effective money-making
strategies off this blog for a very personal reason…

As you’re probably aware, I’ve been writing this free blog for several years… but I no longer disclose my most effective hard-core money-making secrets here.

See, I don’t want my most effective secrets indexed by Google for all those mooching do-nothing freeloaders we talked about earlier to see. I only want to reveal my highest of high level secrets to like-minded doers who “get it”, understand their value and, most importantly, will take action.

So now, all my very best and most effective secrets are reserved exclusively for subscribers to my new hard copy newsletter, The Doberman Dan Letter.

Each issue is like having money-making opportunities practically knock on your door. All you have to do is answer.

As you’ll soon see for yourself, The Doberman Dan Letter is very personal and from my heart. It’s me talking one-on-one with you as your mentor, sincerely interested in your success and happiness.

Every issue is like we’re sitting around at the end of the day on my deck by the pool, watching the sunset, enjoying a beer or two…

…with Donner the Doberman chasing squirrels and Chiqui Rikki the Shih Tzu jumping up into your lap…

…just hanging out enjoying life while I share my most profitable (and hard-earned) money-making and success lessons with you.

Each monthly issue (ESPECIALLY the December 2011 issue you’re soon going to get) is jam packed with hands-on, practical and immediately actionable ways for you to make big money from all the new trends developing all around us.

No matter what business you’re in… online, brick & mortar, service business, professional practice, catalog/direct mailer, copywriter, consultant, sales professional… heck, ANY kind of business… you’ll discover…

A LEGION Of Money-Making Ideas
To Quickly Boost Your Income!

Or… if you don’t yet have a business but sincerely desire to make a lot of money, while creating a lifestyle most people can only DREAM about, the December 2011 issue will put you on the “fast track.” You’ll quickly blow by all the poor marketers and entrepreneurs who will struggle for DECADES without these secrets.

Sorry, this special $4.95 trial offer has expired.

But you can still qualify for some of my best money-making secrets…

The truth about free traffic and low cost clicks... and what most online marketers are doing wrong.

Monday, 11:12 AM

Dear Friend,

If you want a guaranteed audience all you need to do is start talking about how to get free traffic and low cost clicks.

That will draw thousands of rookies to you like flies to… well, you know what.

That's what all the rookie online marketers think they want. But that's how stupid marketers measure success… by how much free traffic and low cost clicks they're getting.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

The experienced marketers know better.

I don't give a flying fart how much free traffic you're getting. It doesn't impress me one bit.

I don't care if you're getting thousands or even MILLIONS of people a day to your website from organic search on useless non-buying keywords… and you have a gazillion people on your freebie eZine list.

I hate to burst your bubble but that doesn't mean you're a successful marketer.

The only thing that matters is…

Your Conversions!

And when I say "conversions" I'm talking about converting your traffic into buyers.

Any idiot with a website can spend months doing grunt work to get free traffic and bribe people with freebies to opt-in to their list. (And many idiots do, BTW.)

The smart marketers know none of that stuff really matters. What really matters is converting your traffic into buyers.

See, in spite of what you've been told, you don't really have a traffic problem.

You have a CONVERSION problem.

If you're converting well you'll NEVER have a traffic problem… because with good conversions you can…

BUY as much traffic as you want!

Hell, other people will even buy traffic for you.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying don't work on your SEO. If that traffic is converting into buyers for you… go for it.

What I'm saying is… doing all kinds of grunt work to get a bunch of free traffic is NOT a measure of success.

How much free traffic you're getting doesn't mean squat. The only important metric is how much of your traffic is converting into buyers.

Don't waste months of your life like I initially did after coming online in 1996, doing grunt work to get free traffic that only generated a bunch of freebie-seeking cheap bastards.

No matter how much free traffic you're getting, if they ain't converting into buyers, it's time to reevaluate your traffic generation strategies.

All the best,

P.S. I've always been really successful converting traffic from Google Adwords… until earlier this year when I got my account suspended… without explanation.

After giving them almost a million bucks, that was kinda a kick in the teeth.

But have no fear…

I recently revealed how to get your Google Adwords account back for less than $50… WITHOUT being forced to jump through any hoops or kiss any butts.

And the REALLY exciting part:

It appears you don't have to make any changes to your website copy.

Hell, you can even drive Adwords traffic directly to a video sales letter… something that is supposed to be a major no-no.

After getting his Adwords account cancelled, one of my newsletter subscribers followed this plan and for the past 10 months has been buying 5-figures a month of Adwords traffic and sending it to video sales letters… without a hitch.

I revealed all the details a couple days ago to the knights and knightettes at my monthly Marketing Camelot round table meeting.

Being an entrepreneur is all about finding creative solutions to perplexing problems. And this Adwords problem is a doozy.

The creative solution I discovered is possibly the only option left for the hundreds of thousands of online marketers who woke up one morning to find they were suspended by the Google god.

Join me in the Marketing Camelot and you'll get access to the recording of our meeting where I revealed how to get your Adwords account back for $50 or less… with very little hassle.

I also revealed a creative "work-around" online supplement retailers can use to get around this new B.S. that requires you to open a high risk merchant account.

Use my technique and you can get a regular old merchant account that won't charge you higher fees and hold back 10% of your daily charges in reserve like the high risk merchant accounts do.

All these valuable marketing techniques and creative entrepreneurial secrets (and more) are waiting for you here.

See ya at the round table!

This was a HUGE epiphany that saved and made me a LOT of money.

Friday, 11:12 PM

Dear Friend,

I find it amusing when copywriters brag about their alleged successes on their websites.

One copywriter was bragging about a 46% response rate he allegedly got from a lead gen piece he wrote for a client.

Oh yeah… a measly 46%?

Ha! That ain't nothin'.

I got a 100% response on a lead gen piece I wrote a few years ago.

Yup, you read that right… 100%!

When it was all said and done, guess how much cashola I eventually made from that 100% response.

Go ahead, take a wild guess.

None, nada, zip, a goose egg… ZERO!

So how impressed are ya NOW with my 100% response?

You see, response rates don't mean Jack Crap.

Neither does how much traffic you're getting to your website, how many mooches you've got on your freebie-seeker e-mail list… or any of that other stuff dumb rookie marketers brag about.

The ONLY metrics that really matters are your ROI on your marketing dollars… and…

How much cashola are you making from the business
for your greedy little self!

So bragging about response rates is kinda stupid.

Here I was with a 100% response and going broke. And I know marketers getting a .28 response… and getting filthy stinkin', honkin' rich.

So let the clueless rookies brag about response rates. That stuff doesn't impress a "gun."

One other thing I've noticed about the plethora of copywriters coming out of the woodwork online nowadays. They never talk about their failures. They lead you to believe they've never had any.

Hey, I'm the first to let you know I've picked a bunch of "whoopsy daisies" during my copywriting/entrepreneurial journey… and I'm PROUD of my failures.

When you're swinging for the fences, you're going to strike out most of the time. To break the world record for home runs, you're gonna have to break the record for strike outs, too.

I've lost MILLIONS of dollars (literally) of my OWN money making a bunch of mistakes with my OWN businesses… putting my OWN money where my mouth (and pen) is.

But I don't look at losing all that money as failure. I consider it…

A multi-million dollar investment
in my marketing education!

So yeah, I'm not the least bit embarrassed to share my mistakes. I've learned wayyyyy more from them than my successes.

For example, here's a doozy I made when I was still a rookie:

I hit my first home run and started thinking I could do no wrong. (Typical arrogant rookie mistake.) I'd written a full-page magazine ad that was kicking complete booty in every single magazine I ran in. It was bringing in 3x to 5x ad cost on every insertion.

BTW… back then I thought making 3x to 5x ad cost on a front end offer was a GOOD thing… a VERY good thing.

Another stupid rookie mistake. I robbed myself of an absolute multi-million dollar fortune with that mindset. (But we talked about THAT in Part 1.)

Anyhoo… my ad was so successful I started rolling it out in every media I had available in that market at the time.

Penthouse magazine saw my ad running in various bodybuilding and fitness magazines and started courting me for my business.

They showed me all kinds of circulation statistics showing how many of their readers had a strong interest in fitness, were supplement buyers, other supplement companies were running ads, yadda yadda yadda.

I believed them. I didn't know any better.

(NEVER believe any of the stuff in the magazines' media kits. They inflate their circulation numbers and make you believe every single one of their readers makes $200k+ a year and spends 10% of their income on whatever it is you're selling.)

Back then a full page ad in Penthouse was $45,000. (Thanks to the private banking cartel that committed the biggest fraud in the history of the world on December 24, 1913, that's equal to about $90,000 in today's dollars.)

I did the best negotiation job I could and got the ad rep down to a test rate of $15,000… AND 30-day net terms.

I was so successful with this ad in every other media, I assumed it was a given I'd get at LEAST 3 times ad costs… maybe more. So the minor little detail that I didn't have the $15k didn't seem like a problem.

Ya know… it seems like every time I start thinking I can do no wrong, something humbles me.

Since I had been rolling out so quickly, I was reinvesting every penny back into the business. I had a pretty big cash flow… but very little net.

So it hit me pretty hard when that ad only grossed $4,700… and I was on the hook to Penthouse for $15,000 in 30 days.

So I applied the same negotiation skills I used to get a $45k ad for $15k on net 30-day terms… and negotiated a payment plan for the balance I owed them.

I felt like such a complete schmuck. (I've been told schmuck in Hebrew means "useless penis." If that's true, it's a completely accurate description of how I felt at the time.)

Now maybe to you, the lesson here seems quite obvious… but back in my rookie days I had never thought about it before this Penthouse incident.

What's the lesson?

No matter how successful your copy is… and no matter how many different media you've successfully run in…

Every insertion in a new media is a new test!

Just because your copy is kicking booty in one magazine doesn't mean it's going to do as well in another.

Just because your ad is doing great on one website doesn't mean it will do great on another.

Just because your copy is working well online doesn't mean it's gonna do well in an offline media. And vicey-versey.

Capiche?

My ad was pulling 3 to 5 times ad costs in about 6 or 7 magazines. I was SURE it would be a grand slam home run in Penthouse. And with their huge circulation, I was already counting the money and picking out which Mercedes I was going to buy.

Seriously.

But alas, no "winner, winner chicken dinner" for rookie DD.

I didn't think I was taking a big risk. I ASSumed my past success with that ad in other media guaranteed success in Penthouse, too. But in the end what I'd done was roll the dice with money I didn't have.

Hard lesson to learn… but I've never made that one again since.

Make no mistake about it…

You'll learn MUCH more from your failures than your successes. So don't be afraid of failure… because for every failure, you're much closer to success.

And trust your Uncle DD…

Just one success can make up for all the failures… 1,000-fold.

All the best,

I've cheated myself out of TENS of MILLIONS of dollars because I didn't know the power of THIS little secret.

Thursday, 12:31 AM

FROM: Deep in the jungle in an undisclosed location in South America

Dear Friend,

I only brought two books with me to read during my travels over the next few weeks.

One of them is Direct Marketing Quantified by Gary Hennerburg.

Best $195 I ever spent.

Well, except for that time at The Del Rey Bar & Hotel in Costa Rica… but I don't talk about those days any more.

Anyhoo, this Hennerberg guy makes most of us look like pikers. He knows direct marketing like nobody's business.

If I would have known this stuff when I was first starting… well, I probably wouldn't be writing this now. I'd OWN my own island paradise… and I'd be lying on the beach all day drinking Coronas and lighting cigars with hundred dollar bills.

If you want to make serious money in direct response, knowing and using the stuff in Hennerberg's book is crucial.

As I've been reading this book, I've been reminded of a whole bunch of stupid mistakes I made as a rookie. One in particular probably cost me that private island paradise I SHOULD own right now.

Back in the mid 90's I wrote a supplement ad that was kicking total booty in the muscle-head market. I was getting an ROI of 3 to 5 times ad costs in every magazine I ran it in.

I was such a wet behind the ears rookie back then I thought getting 3 to 5 times ROI on ad cost was a GOOD thing. Little did I know how much future money I was cheating myself out of. (More about THAT in a minute.)

Since I was so successful with this ad in the muscle-head market, I decided to try my hand in a bigger market. I wrote 1/4 page and 1/2 page newspaper ads positioning this supplement as an anti-aging/fat loss product.

I bought remnant space in about six newspapers and ran a test. When it was all said and done, two of the newspapers went a little negative (they didn't sell enough to make back 100% of my my ad costs) and four broke even.

Compared to the 3 to 5 times ROI I was getting on every insertion in all the bodybuilding mags, I thought my anti-aging newspaper ads sucked. After all… I didn't make any money.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Now (too late, unfortunately) I know I had a tiger by the tail. I had created…

A money machine that could have
made me a multi-millionaire!

And I was too stupid to realize it.

What was my mistake?

Not understanding the front end is NOT where you make your money. The BIG money in this business is in…

The back end!

I had created newspaper ads that could have been rolled out to hundreds of newspapers…

…with a combined circulation of TENS of MILLIONS…

…that could have brought in hundreds of thousands… or MILLIONS of customers…

At ZERO cost!

Then I could have sold them an endless string of health/anti-aging products ad infinitum… month after month… making myself filthy stinkin' honkin' rich in the process.

Damn! Just thinking it about it makes me want to go lick one of those South American frogs.

Oh well… at least I've learned my lesson. And from what I've observed, that makes me a very rare dude amongst most marketers.

Seriously. Almost NOBODY understands how to properly work their back end. Even many of the big players are letting a small fortune slip through their fingers month after month.

But the WORST offenders are the "kitchen table" entrepreneurs. Most of 'em have no clue about the back end. All they ever do is chase after more and more new customers… letting them come in through their revolving front door… and watching them go out almost as quickly as they came in.

Sad really.

That's why the October and November issues of The Doberman Dan Letter are all about how to make a lot of money by properly working your back end.

AND… how to keep your customers for as long as possible with my uber-effective "stick" secrets.

If you have any kind of continuity or auto-ship programs, you'll probably DOUBLE your retention with these little gems. They helped me take a floundering supplement auto-ship program from a pathetic 1 month (or less) average stick rate… to 3.5 to 4 months.

And that made a HUGE difference in my bottom line.

You see, doubling stick rates doesn't just double your net…

It causes EXPONENTIAL
increases in profits!

Don't make the same rookie mistake as me.

Get rid of your "revolving door" business and figure out how to work your back end properly and KEEP those new customers.

You'll be a lot happier (and richer) for it.

All the best,

Discover what Internet Marketing guru Frank Kern considers to be the next big thing for making millions.

Dear Friend,

Most people in our incestuous little world of Internet Marketing are familiar with the much maligned marketing guru, Frank Kern.

For those who are new to our little world… or if you've been living in an underground bunker the last 10 years (probably not a bad idea, BTW, considering the state of things)… allow me to give a brief introduction to…

The Man, The Myth, The Legend…
Frank Kern!

The Frank Kern persona is a laid back, long haired, beer drinking, funny, foul-mouthed California surfer dude who works very little, yet makes millions with his online marketing secrets.

The persona presented is an interesting character. And his lazy "surfer dude" millionaire lifestyle has been reinforced with continuous conditioning via video, audio, seminar presentations and the written word.

It's a great study in how to create a larger than life character, successful direct marketing, info-tainment, how to build a loyal cult-like following… and how to use all that to sell 4-figure products and 5-figure and even 6-figure seminars and coaching.

Kern, like all successful people with a highly visible public profile, may be be the target of a lot of criticism, but make no mistake about it… he is a worthy study for any marketer.

I've been studying Frank and his products for quite some time now.

And very recently I've uncovered a dirty little secret about the REAL Frank Kern… NOT the public persona most people THINK is the real Frank Kern.

Here's the 411:

A while back I heard through the grapevine that Kern had all but abandoned his "Internet Marketing Guru" gig for greener pastures.

MUCH greener pastures.

I'm talking about a business that makes so much money, it added an extra zero on to what he used to make in his Internet Marketing guru business.

Yeah. I'm talking about Donald Trump kinda money.

But WITHOUT any of the pain in the ass stuff all us online marketers HATE to constantly deal with.

Stuff like:

* SEO (It sucks to fight like hell to get a #1 spot only to drop to 247 every time Google makes some kind of guideline changes.)

* Google Adwords and other Pay Per Click advertising… and constantly losing sleep worrying about whether you're the next one to get "slapped", or worse, banned for life because of some minor infraction of their ever-changing rules.

* E-mail delivery… or I should say LACK of delivery. (This is getting worse and worse day by day.)

* Increasing, and in some markets, OVERWHELMING competition. It's driving advertising costs – especially PPC – through the roof… and making it cost prohibitive for newbies and "kitchen table commando" entrepreneurs to start businesses online. (This will only get worse, by the way.)

* The damn near impossibility of rookies being able to break into markets where there is an established "good ole boy" network or "syndicate"…

* And many more frustrating aspects of the constantly changing online media…

But our very smart tree-smoking surfer has found a way to make 10 to 100… and even 1,000 times more money by NOT having to deal with any of the stuff he has taught the guru fan boy crowd the last 10 years. (Actually, I don't really know if Frank smokes weed. But it DOES fit his persona.)

See, Frank figured out that the IM fishing pond is now so overcrowded with competing fisherman (many of which he helped create)… that the best way to fill his boat with tons of fish is to find a pond where nobody else is fishing.

And that's exactly what Frank has done.

This is a huge opportunity and you're probably completely oblivious to it.

But smart guys like Frank have NOT missed it…

And They're Quietly Making
TENS Of MILLIONS Of Dollars
Completely "Under The Radar!"

I'm so intrigued with Frank Kern's new multi-million dollar business model, I recently did an extensive expose on it with my friend and fellow marketing junkie, Markus Allen.

Click here to discover what Frank Kern considers to be "the next big thing" for making millions.

All the best,

Wanna learn the most profitable secrets of Internet marketing?

You'll be shocked to hear where you can find the "best of the best" gurus.

Thursday, 10:13 PM

Dear Friend,

Thanks to a never-ending inbox, I can no longer answer questions from the great unwashed masses who stumble upon my blog.

But for the knights and knightettes in my Marketing Camelot, I gladly do a Q&A call every month.

Some people prefer to ask me questions live… and others prefer to send their questions by e-mail and have me record my answers.

As I was rummaging through my file cabinet I ran across a question a subscriber sent me a couple months ago.

I thought you might want to check out my answer because I've personally made a LOT of cashola with this exact advice.

Q: I read your post How To Make MILLIONS In The Guru Business and it pretty much put the icing on the cake.

What's funny is that Frank Kern even mentions in his List Control program that you need to form a type of syndicate (aka the good ole boys club) in your niche; and it's exactly what you mentioned in one of your points in your post.

So that brings me to this… who should I learn from?

I'm a 25-year old aspiring entrepreneur but I don't want to learn from the wrong people. Could your provide some recommendations?

DD: In my most humble (but accurate) opinion, the very best "Internet Marketing gurus" you can possibly learn from are…

The dead mail order marketers!

Here are the best ways to mentor under these guys:

The Robert Collier Letter Book
- Robert Collier

My First Hundred Million
- E. Haldeman-Julius

Breakthrough Advertising
- Eugene Schwartz

How To Write A Good Advertisement
- Vic Schwab

7 Steps To Freedom
- Ben Suarez
(NOT a dead mail order marketer.
He's still alive… and EXCEPTIONALLY good.)

My Life In Advertising
- Claude Hopkins

The Gary Halbert Letter
- Many of the issues are available here…

The Boron Letters
- Gary Halbert – Available free here…

Scientific Advertising
- Claude Hopkins

Tested Advertising Methods
- John Caples

The Lazy Man's Way to Riches
- Joe Karbo

The Thomas Hall Letter & Guides
- Thomas Hall
(Out of print but soon to be made available FREE
to all The Doberman Dan Letter subscribers.)

Here's a HUGE jealously guarded secret
of the most successful marketers in the world…

Master the first six chapters in Breakthrough Advertising by Eugene Schwartz and you'll be so far ahead of your competition… they don't even have a PRAYER of catching up.

In fact, I'm doing a coaching program soon to help you do exactly that.

It ain't gonna be cheap… but Doberman Dan Letter subscribers will get in FREE. (Details coming soon.)

All the best,

P.S. I know my opinion is biased… but in addition to all the books I recommended, I think you'll find some valuable info here on DobermanDan.com, too.

Want to sell high-priced products in a HUGE and highly profitable market?

THIS is how I've done it... and recommend you do, too.

Wednesday, 10:54 PM

Dear Friend,

I'm frequently asked, "Is selling Internet marketing how-to products a good business to be in?"

The reality of the Internet marketing (IM) niche is a little depressing… and we marketers (well, the HONEST ones) would be well served to seriously reevaluate if we want to be associated with it.

Let ole DD do his infamous "tell-it-like-it-is" thang and reveal what I've discovered from my brief little foray into creating and selling products in this niche.

For an honest "non-guru" guy, things are NOT all that great in the IM niche … and getting worse.

In fact, a few well-connected insiders have secretly told me that many of the big names have seen their "guru" businesses crash and burn over the past couple years… and most have taken MAJOR hits in income.

On the other hand, I'm in a mastermind group with an entrepreneur named Mike who has done it the RIGHT way, in my most humble (but accurate) opinion.

Mike doesn't sell IM products. He sells info products about marketing and business improvement to REAL business owners. In most cases, that's brick & mortar (B&M) business owners.

97% (or more) of "online business owners" don't even really have a business. They're just wannabee wimps (hey… alliteration!) who aren't making any money… and probably never will… for a variety of reasons. Numero uno being they're wannabee wimps who only DELUDE themselves into thinking they're "online business owners" because they've bought some over-priced bright shiny object (B.S.O.) IM products and put up a WordPress blog.

Now, the B&M business owner market can be a pain in the ass, too… but for other reasons:

1. They're almost ALL brain-dead stupid about marketing. Mention "direct response" and they look at you like you have two heads.

2. A lot of them are highly skeptical because almost every alleged "marketing expert" who has extracted or is currently extracting money from them is actually just a media rep selling some type of advertising.

And the "marketing experts" who have parted them from their money are ALSO brain-dead stupid about marketing.

The B&M guys can be a tough sell because all these previous "marketing experts" sold them B.S. that NEVER produced any ROI for the poor old B&M owner. And even if it DID, the B&M guy wouldn't know it 'cuz he has no clue how to track his advertising and measure the ROI. Hell, he doesn't even know what "tracking" means… and neither does the "marketing expert."

So those are a few hurdles to overcome.

Now, the GOOD things about B&M biz owners:

1. They didn't just dream up some half-assed idea yesterday, invest $200 in Google Adwords and decide to go into business. They actually had to invest some real thought, planning, time and SIGNIFICANT cashola to go into business. In other words, they're REAL biz people… and they have some serious skin in the game to make sure their deal actually brings in income.

2. They're accustomed to paying 4 and sometimes 5-figure monthly expenses… mortgage/lease, salaries, big insurance bills, big utility bills… and God knows what other gummint license fees and extortion.

3. They usually have a big cash flow… and a little "wiggle room" on what they can invest it in month to month.

4. Again, I refer you to item #1 in the "pain in the ass" reasons. But because they ARE near brain-dead stupid about marketing, that represents a HUGE frickin' opportunity for us'ns. (See the premier issue of The Doberman Dan Letter for a complete plan on how to capitalize on this… almost immediately. Shame on you if you're not a subscriber!)

See, a good marketer understands that many B&M biz owners, because of their marketing ignorance, are sitting on an absolute GOLD MINE… and don't even know it. You can be a mini Jay Abraham and easily help them mine all that undiscovered gold, keeping 10% to 25% (or more) for yourself.

And that's EXACTLY what you'll discover in the the premier issue of The Doberman Dan Letter… which you'll get as a new subscriber… along with a whole bunch of other cool money-making bonuses.

Knowing what I know now, if I were looking to start an info products business with BIG potential income…

…in a HUGE niche…

…where I could sell at price points of $200, $500, $1,000 and more…

…in an evergreen market…

I'd go after B&M biz owners.

(I knoweth of what I speaketh. I've done exactly what I'm describing quite successfully… 3 different times.)

The IM niche?

Meh.

An honest guy or gal ain't gonna last long there. Your honesty just can't compare with their lies… and all the alluring fantasies of "push button riches."

Let the IM con men deal with all the whiny wannabee wimps. (There I go alliterating again!)

I think you'll make a lot more money, be much happier and sleep a lot better selling REAL products that really work… to REAL business owners.

All the best,

What are the most effective new Internet marketing strategies? My answer just may surprise you.

Wednesday, 5:37 AM

Dear Friend,

I love it when rookies want to talk Internet marketing strategies with me.

I usually just let them rattle on about all the things they think are new B.S.O.'s (bright shiny objects).

Stuff like:

… SEO strategies, secrets and "tricks"

… Social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

… Pay Per Click

… CPA networks

… Free traffic methods

… Low cost clicks

… Affiliate marketing

… Banner advertising

… Product launch formulas

… Webinars

… ad nauseum…

I find it amusing because if any of these guys and gals had read the marketing classics (which is ESSENTIAL reading, in my most humble but accurate opinion) they would understand that none of this stuff is new.

In fact…

There is NOTHING new!

If you're looking for "new" you're gonna be looking a long time.

Of course, there are a lot of people who will try to sell you "new"… usually pitched as a magic bullet… and priced for a pretty penny.

There have been new MEDIA over the years (radio, then TV… then the Internet) but how to market and build a business… nothing new there.

In fact, the principles of successful marketing are pretty simple.

The problem is, most rookies (and even a few experienced marketers) allow themselves to get sucked into this B.S.O. syndrome… and that distracts them from doing the tried and true marketing strategies that give the highest ROI.

All those things I mentioned at the beginning of this post… those are fairly easily learned skills. You can pay somebody surprisingly little to do all of that for you… IF you have mastered the most important skills that produce the highest ROI.

And what are those high ROI skills so sorely lacking in most Internet marketers today?

Understanding human nature and market behavior!

When you have THAT nailed down, you are the guy or gal who makes the world go round… and you don't have to immerse yourself in "grunt work." You can pay somebody else a pittance to do it for you.

If you DO choose to immerse yourself in grunt work, you're severely limiting your income… and time freedom.

What you SHOULD be immersing yourself in is the basic marketing and persuasion principles… and the study of markets. (Master the first 5 chapters of Breakthrough Advertising by Gene Schwartz and you'll probably find yourself so far ahead of other marketers it'll be scary.) Leave the grunt work to "lesser mortals", as Gary Halbert used to say.

I no longer try to tell these poor clueless rookies they're on the wrong path… and to get back on the RIGHT path they need to stop reading Internet marketing stuff and go back and study the old masters.

No, I just smile and pat them on their confused little heads… because I know constantly looking for the "new" will result in two possible outcomes:

1. They will be continually confused, frustrated, unproductive… and broke.

2. After the constant search for "the new" leaves them continually confused, frustrated, unproductive and broke… they will FINALLY pull their head out of their ass and seek out the TRIED and TRUE principles of marketing and persuasion that can be applied to ANY media.

Unfortunately, 17 years experience has shown me only 5% or less will allow themselves to get on to #2. The rest will spend their entire career spinning their wheels… or quit.

Searching for "the new" is a formula for frustration and failure. Let the poor deluded rookies wallow in this misery.

The truth is… there is NOTHING new for the true master of marketing. And a TRUE master understands this and invests his life studying, rereading and mastering the basics.

And, in spite of what the sellers of the B.S.O.'s tell you, there are DEFINITELY no new Internet marketing strategies.

Let all the delusional saps chase fantasies, magic bullets, B.S.O.'s… and "new Internet marketing strategies." You be smarter than that. Invest your time and money in becoming a master of the timeless marketing principles… and enjoy a lifetime of prosperity.

All the best,

What will you do when the Internet is under attack and your sole method of doing business is taken away?

Monday, 5:55 AM (Approx. 25 hours and 55 minutes after the initial attack.)

Dear Friend,

What will you do when the Internet is under attack?

When hundreds of thousands or MILLIONS of websites are down… including all YOUR webites?

Your sole method of doing business taken away.

And it lasts days, weeks… or months.

What will you do?

Fear mongering, you say?

Not at all.

Over 700,000 websites have been down since 4:00 AM September 25, 2011 due to an attack on the ENTIRE InMotion Hosting company.

And amongst those 700,000 sites, guess who has ALL their websites hosted there?

Yup… moi'.

DobermanDan.com is back up, obviously. (Duh!)

But the other 15 or so sites… the ones I rely on for REAL businesses that support my family have been down for almost 26 hours… and continue to be down.

Nowadays for most people, an attack like this means they're out of business.

But not me.

See, I've been expecting this… and I've been prepared. (Not as prepared as I SHOULD have been… but that will soon be corrected.)

But as far as this not affecting my income an awful lot, I've been prepared.

How?

1. I still send direct mail to my entire customer list.

2. I've been set up since the very beginning to accept orders by phone.

3. AND… I can process credit card orders by phone if there's a problem with my merchant account provider's website.

Soooo… if this little act of Internet terrorism continues much longer…

I'm switching to 100% OFFLINE!

…and my income will not be affected very much.

(Actually, based on my 17 years experience with direct mail, my income will probably go UP!)

If you do business with just a website and a Paypal account, how many days can you afford to be down like this and still feed your family?

Something to think about, huh?

Look… history, human nature and current events seem to show this won't be the last time something like this happens… so a prudent person will be prepared.

I've learned several things from this incident and so will InMotion Hosting. They will probably improve their security based on what they learned from all this.

Ya know who else learned something?

The hacker community.

And they will be much better equipped for their next attack.

Look… if you have a 100% online business… and you depend on that business to support the same bad habits I have (sleeping indoors and eating regularly)… you might want to give some thought to all this.

Just in case you think I'm making all this up… click here to read about the attack.

All the best,

P.S. Compared to other things I've been through, this one is a walk in the park.

Isn't it best to be prepared for the absolute worst… and if it turns out it ain't that bad you're still ahead of the poor, clueless and unprepared suckers?

Hell, being prepared for the worst is the only reason I'm still alive today… when statistically I shouldn't be.

It ain't paranoia… it's just plain smart.

Break your e-mail addiction and become more productive, wealthier, stress-free... and MUCH happier.

Wednesday, 12:28 PM

Dear Friend,

What I'm about to say might shock you.

It's probably considered heresy for an online marketer.

But you're wasting YEARS of your life and letting a literal FORTUNE slip through your fingers… and you're completely unaware of it.

In fact, you THINK you're being productive.

Quite the opposite.

Your productivity is being STOLEN from you… and even worse… you're a willing participant in this heinous crime.

Since your attachment to technology has greatly lessened your attention span and I.Q., I need to cut to the chase and keep this post to under 500 words.

(Seriously. The more you have become dependent on staying connected via the Internet, text messaging, etc., the lower your I.Q. and attention span. Several major university double-blind studies have even confirmed a permanent change in brain structure from this addiction. The under 30 generation is the most affected. Most universities have even had to change their complete curriculum, schedule and teaching methods to deal with it. God help you if you're trying to sell to this demographic. They're broke AND stupid!)

Let me share a little story…

A few years ago I sent a fax to a former colleague congratulating him on the launch of his first book. (Fax was the only way to contact him. He doesn't accept e-mails.)

I was going to be in his area and offered to take him to lunch to catch up.

See, I knew this guy when he was a wet-behind-the-ears rookie… and is now claiming to be one of the best copywriters in the world.

He even worked with my mentor for a couple weeks… until he couldn't take any more of the chaos.

He had ZERO experience back then. Had never written a successful piece of copy, had never started a direct response business… but did show some potential as a decent writer.

Based on that, my mentor and I found it amusing when he left our little chaotic fold after two weeks and hung out his shingle on the Internet claiming to be one of the best copywriters in the world.

Even though he was "telling the truth in advance" (which is what the self help gurus call it when you lie), to this guy's credit, he worked really hard, got some clients and actually finally DID have some success writing copy.

He also put up a lot of content on his blog and built a nice following online.

After my fax offering to take him to lunch, he answered with one of the most arrogant replies I've ever seen.

He said Halbert warned him that when he was successful, people would constantly try to get free advice and free copy from him… and he needed to guard against these intrusions.

I was somewhat taken back with this reply. After all, when I first met him, he was a completely clueless rookie and I had already started five successful direct response and online businesses at that time.

If I wanted to get free advice from anybody, he would be REALLY far down on the list. I just wanted to catch up with a former colleague and buy lunch.

For someone who claims to have a genius IQ, I was quite surprised he was stupid enough to actually believe his own publicity. (Something that can destroy even the most successful of men.)

Yes, I was surprised at his arrogance and… I have to admit… a bit offended, too.

But ever since I put up this blog…

I TOTALLY get it now!

It wasn't arrogance and being stupid enough to buy into his own publicity… it was an automatic response to protect himself from "time looters."

It was a self-preservation reaction to ASSUME (ASS-U-ME) I was one of those time looters. (He had no way of knowing my income was 10x's bigger than his… and I had zero interest in any advice he could have possibly given me.)

See, once you have a public profile, people come out of the woodwork asking for help… for free, of course. And that was what this guy thought he was protecting himself against.

Many people believe they have some kind of claim on your time (your life) just because they exist and you're successful. They really believe they're entitled to your time and attention simply because you have a website… and they get really nasty if you ignore them.

They'll write threatening messages and even slander you in public forums.

The most heinous entitlement attitude looters even have the nerve to attack and slander you on your own blog. That's like them spray painting graffiti on your house right after you painted it. (They don't have the balls to say it in person… but it's safe for them to do it from the safety and comfort of where they live… their parents' basement.)

See, they're cowards… but the Internet provides them the safe distance and anonymity to do that stuff without the risk of being punched in the throat… which is the appropriate response, in my most humble (but accurate) opinion.

And how do most try to steal your time?

E-mail!

(This post has already gone WAY over 500 words… so I've now lost 95% of the people 30 and under. I don't care. The smart ones are still with me. And if you listen to me, you'll enjoy your life a LOT more… and make a LOT more money. Don't have the attention span to read more than 500 words? Vaya con Dios! Stay broke and continue getting more and more stupid.)

What most people consider to be one of the most efficient technological breakthroughs in the entire history of business communications is actually one of the biggest wastes of time.

You may THINK e-mail is a blessing… but it's actually a curse.

The very reason most people value e-mail… its immediacy… is exactly what makes it so insidious. Nobody actually schedules time for it.

Instead, they REACT like Pavlov's dog… like a stupid dog without the capability of logical analysis… and treat it like it's an urgent event.

No matter what they're doing, they drop everything and respond right away.

Got news for ya:

E-mail is NEVER urgent…
and almost never very important, either!

In fact, it's the very LEAST productive thing you can possibly do every day.

The more time you spend reading and responding to e-mails, the lower your income… and IQ, as the studies prove.

Many of the REALLY high earners I know absolutely refuse to even use it. They can pay some "lesser mortal" $10/hour to do that.

Or some of the PWM's (players with money) have a private e-mail address they only give out to a small handful of people (like me) in their inner circle. And those of us who have access to them via this private e-mail realize it may be 2 to 4 weeks before they answer. If it's something truly urgent, we call them on the phone. (Novel concept, huh? Talking to a real, live human being on the telephone!)

BTW, if you're still personally handling customer service issue via e-mail that's a very poor use of your time. It's what Gary Halbert used to call LMS. (Lesser mortal shit.)

It's actually COSTING you money to do it yourself. You can hire someone in the Philippines who speaks perfect English to do it for you ridiculously cheap… while you invest your valuable (and limited) time in high payback activities.

Here's a little tip that will almost instantly make you more productive and stop the e-mail "time suck" you allow yourself to get caught up in, constantly frittering away your precious life:

SCHEDULE All E-mails…
So YOU Choose When To Handle Them!

Replying to e-mail is a TASK. And like any other task, it should be SCHEDULED.

But that's not what most people do. They e-mail and respond to e-mails continuously throughout the day.

It doesn't matter if they're in the middle of a highly important and urgent project on deadline. As soon as they see an incoming e-mail… even if it has ZERO relevancy to their important project, they drop everything they're doing, react like Pavlov's idiot slobbering dog and respond.

What so many clueless people view as instantaneous and constant access is actually instantaneous and constant diversion and distraction… sucking away time that SHOULD be invested in MUCH more important activities.

Bottom line:

It's a piss poor use of your time… the lowest payoff and worst possible use of your limited and precious life.

If all that isn't bad enough…

Here's The Thing I Hate
MOST About E-mail…

Almost everybody has now been conditioned to believe (thanks to the the mouth-breathing "Pavlov's dogs" e-mail idiots)… and now has the unrealistic expectation that almost as soon as an e-mail is received, the recipient will respond.

If that's how you treat your e-mail… you are a SLAVE!

I utterly REFUSE to be a slave to my e-mail… ESPECIALLY messages from people I don't even know who erroneously believe they have some kind of claim on my time.

You may find this shocking because it's the exact opposite of what you've been conditioned to believe:

There is no law that says
you have to respond to e-mail…
EVER!

And instantaneous reaction to ANYTHING other than an immediate life-threatening situation is not the highest and best use of your time. Giving the message a little thought and reflection (on the 2% chance it really IS important) would probably allow you to make a much more conscientious and astute response… something sorely lacking in most e-mail communication.

Here's another shocker:

For many important and sensitive communications, e-mail is NOT the best choice.

I've been misunderstood many times and people were wrongly offended by an e-mail communication.

Why?

E-mail doesn't allow for tone, inflection and emotion. It's VERY easy to totally misread an innocent comment and assign it a meaning never intended by the sender.

Here's ANOTHER reason e-mail sucks:

Just like everything else in this world, there's an 80/20 rule in e-mail.

80% of business e-mails are low priority. Problem is, most people treat ALL e-mails with equal priority… usually based on how recently they've arrived in their inbox.

They think all messages have equal significance simply because they arrived electronically.

I ain't no psychiatrist (thank GOD!) but I think most people's Pavlovian reaction to e-mail is based almost entirely on that dreaded 4-letter word…

F-E-A-R!

You're afraid you're going to miss some important opportunity or deal.

Ya know what… there's a 98% chance that's simply not true.

They say addicts are the most zealous at proselytizing other addicts once they've gone through a 12-step program and have broken their addiction.

Maybe that's why I'm so opinionated about you wasting so much of your life on something so unimportant.

Yes, I was an e-mail addict. Checked the damn thing 10, 15 20 times a day… or more.

I was FORCED to break my addiction when I had to re-organize my time to accommodate a variety of new projects.

And a few things happened…

1. My productivity went WAY up…

2. My income went up… almost immediately…

3. My stress level went down… WAY down…

4. I actually had a lot more time to get away from the computer and enjoy REAL life for a change. (You may find this hard to believe… but interacting with friends on Facebook is NOT real life.)

Breaking my e-mail addiction was one of the smartest things I've ever done… and it ain't that hard.

I also realize the irony of this message. You probably found out about this blog post via e-mail.

That's cool. I still subscribe to a few blogs myself… but my time for reading them is SCHEDULED… just like my e-mail time.

And frankly, I've learned the hard way e-mail is now one of the most unreliable media… if not, the #1 most unreliable media. If you depend on it entirely for business communication, that's a BIG mistake.

That's why anything important is still sent via snail mail, FedEx, UPS or private courier. (Or if you're in deep doo-doo it's sent via a Sheriff's deputy.) Delivery rates and open rates are INFINITELY higher than e-mail via any of these methods. As close to 100% as you can get.

It's also why I know longer share my most successful and important success and marketing secrets on this blog. Those are now shared offline ONLY to a small group of insiders via The Doberman Dan Letter.

Please listen to your old pal, DD… break your e-mail addiction… TODAY.

Schedule time to read, respond and send e-mails… only ONCE per day.

If you truly want to be free… get it down to once a week.

Do that for 30 days and your life will change in ways you can't even imagine right now.

Stop being a slave. Break your e-mail addiction right now.

You'll be much happier. I promise.

All the best,

P.S. If you have my personal e-mail for some reason and you send me some kind of e-mail… don't expect an immediate reply. A 1 to 3 week wait is not unusual.

Don't be offended. It's nothing personal.

After reading this post, I'm sure you now understand.

If it's truly urgent and/or important, then you're obviously somebody in my inner circle… and that means you have my personal phone numbers. THAT is the best way to contact me. (Very, very few have THAT privilege.)

If you're part of my exclusive little "marketing Camelot" (if you're part of it, you know what I'm talking about) then there is a customer support ticket system at the "Contact Me" link above. Most customer service requests are handled within 24 to 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.
